Power Overwhelming

I'm overly exciting today. Why? Because I managed to get my hand on one of the sexiest computer peripherals available.

The Razer Naga Molten.
From Naga

OK sure I got the standard Naga a few months ago while I was still playing WoW and some might say its a mere re-skin of an existing model but listen to this, there's the Naga, Naga Epic(cordless), Molten and the unreleased Maelstrom. Thats 4 mouse with the same overall design and 2 of then have the same visual features but Razer realised they hit something good to keep churning out variants.

So lets do a small comparison of the 2 that I currently own. The box includes a small facelift on the front while the sides panels are complete redone for the molten

Flipping open the front cover reveals the exact same things except for minor color differences

BTW the one that's unboxed is the blue one which I've been using till now

The packaging is fairly sturdy with multiple layers of plastic trays

...but we don't really care about that so lets get onto the mouse.
From Naga

Visually the mouse is very impressive. Its sleek, black and badass. The cracks are molded into the rubber coating which covers the entire top of the mouse for extra grip and supple comfort.

The main selling point of this beast
That's right 12 thumb buttons plus the standard 5 buttons for a grand total of SEVENTEEN re-mappable buttons and for an MMO player its a dream come true. Buttons 4-6 and 10-12 have ridges on them to help users become accustom to the many buttons by giving tactile feedback on were you thumb is.

Sleek...

It comes with a 7ft braided fiber cord which is very durable and doesn't like to tangle

and a gold plated USB connector

Side by side there isnt really any difference between the 2

The engravings on the Standard Naga is more simple but has its own charms

aaand excuse all the streaks all over the mouse. I had to wipe it down with some cleaning wipes to degrease it( yes the rubber coating loves grease) before I give it to Ivan who was kind enough to buy it off me woot.

Spot the difference
From Naga

The main left and right buttons are 1 piece with the rubber top and as you can see there is a large travel distance for your clicks which to me feels more comfortable and I know a click has been made and spamming it is more enjoyable.

Let there be light!

Selling point 2. LEDs makes stuff sexy period. Here is the biggest and only difference between Naga series of mice. Can you tell which one is the molten?

The standard Naga shines abit brighter and has a more clean and sophisticated look
oh and did I mention that the Molten along with the disappearing Maelstrom supposedly were designed for Wow Cataclysm .

OK so I talked a whole bunch of about the looks of the mouse. What about the specs and how well does it perform? TBH with you I don't think I'm qualified enough to say whats good or bad with this mouse but I'll try to give you my persona opinion if its worth anything.

First off, it was made for MMOs where macroing and hotkeys are the norm. For instance I use to play as a bear druid which translates into a tank and to some people tanking is a very focused role with too many buttons to worry about. Initially I was a bit apprehensive about tanking but blah blah I totally pooned while using this mouse and gradually became so lazy I couldn't play the game with a normal mouse anymore.

On your average mice the thumb operated 2-4 buttons and 2 of these being the forward and backwards button as set by default. These 2 buttons on the Naga are abit strange and requires you to press them with ur index finger as it sits just off to the side of the left click and it does take a while to get use to the strange feeling of angling your index finger out that way.

The lack of dpi on the fly button is abit disappointing instead your required to change the dpi through the downloadable software which becomes abit of a hassle but hey unless you're playing FPS thats not really a problem. The scroll wheel is very solid and only scrolls when you need it to and i believe there is no side to side scrolling but meh I never used it.

And thats pretty much about it from me.

Here's some more pics of stuff I don't care about which comes out of the box

Another year for me.....

Tuesday, March 22, 2011 KOALA 0 comments
Well, I guess another year has passed for my boring life.
I feel like im getting old now....
So in order to put all these negative thoughts away, one must have some distractions in life.
For me, it would mean to splurge on something.
Since this is a new year for me, I thought about trying something different.
Now we all know that Sum likes red things. Over the years, he's built himself a respectable army of red MS.
From Gunpla
Now the January edition of Dengeki featured a whole section dedicated to red MS.
Starting from the Red Zaku, all the way up to the Red Sinanju.
However, i did notice one particular suit which was missing from the list.
This...
From Gunpla

The MSN-04-02 was supposed to be an alternative to the Sazabi, and it was bigger and more powerful.
However, due to the size of the kits, no official kit was ever made.
Even this thing which I got here, is not a bandai made kit...and did i mention that it was a SD aswell?
To let you guys get an understanding on the size of this thing, heres a comparison with one of the standard Bandai mastergrade boxes. MG Gundam MKII box.
From Gunpla

From Gunpla

Made by a company called Model Comprehend.
From Gunpla
I've tried loading their webpage quite a few times without any success. At most, i would get half an image to load, and thats it.

As for the scale of the item....
From Gunpla
Super Deformer Comprehei No limitation scale TM........
Well, what ever that means......

This was a snapshot of the side of the box. From the picture, the finished producted looked rather impressive.
However, we couldnt even tell whether this was a item which needed assembly or whether it was a prebuilt toy.
From Gunpla
I guess curiosity got the best of me. So after buying it, we opened the box, and I was quite surprised to see this. A Clef insignia, just like the one found on the skirt armor of the Sazabi and Nightingale, cut out from the cardboard.
From Gunpla
Rather thoughtful for a unknown Chinese company.

A colour manual
From Gunpla

And a total of 9 runners, 3 batteries, 1 LED, and 1 sheet of stickers.
From Gunpla

I guess the only current problem found was that the plastic wrapping the runners felt like cellophane.

Will go onto building now.

Post the results when i finish.

Snow Balls!

Well, after a whole years worth of training, I guess i have finally got the hang of it.

From General

It sure does bring back some good old memories. It was only just around this time last year when we made our last attempt at making mochi.
And from memory, it probably wasnt the most successful thing which we had made to date.
Heres a reminder of what our failed attempts turned out to be.

In terms of shape, the current ones still needs a bit of work. But there is already improvement ^^

Nazis on Dinosaurs....the best counter attack

Friday, March 18, 2011 KOALA 0 comments
Ok, for starters, I dont have a 1:144 Geara Zulu, and my MG Zaku was too fat to fit on the GenoBreaker, so I used the Reborns instead. Atleast their colour scheme matches

From Gunpla

Now the best counter measurement?
Ta Da~
From Gunpla

Now normally, the GN-Arms-E should be have been docked with the Exia instead, but I did a test fit, and it looked weak and lame.
From Gunpla
The 00 just seems much more agressive
From Gunpla
Now in order to make every thing work, some modifications had to be made. Specifically, the plug to hold the 00 in place.
This is the plug which is supposed to cup over the Exia's GN Drive. Note that this isnt the thing that holds up the Exia while docked.
From Gunpla
There is a secondary arm which fits under the units crotch. The arm didnt really work for the 00, so had to make the changes.
From Gunpla
Yeah yeah, it looks strange, but atleast its strong enough to hold up the whole 00, on ball socket joint.

Here we have some pics of the GN-Arms itself. Without any unit docked to it, it kinda resembles a Giant space crab. Initially, i had always wondered how big it would be compared to the GenoBreaker. Well, as the unit is on a stand, it seems to be taller than the breaker. But when you take it off the stand, it is slightly shorter.
Over all, the GN Arms should take up more volume, but with everything extended out, it looks kinda like an empty shell, where as the dinosaur is completely packed.
From Gunpla
In cruising mode.

Other things done this week.
Made a slight modification to my 00's knee cap
Originally, the 7 sword knee cap was designed to carry 1 GN katar each. Since i had 4 katars, and only 2 legs, well, it wouldnt really hurt to put the other two on. Right?
