Continuing with Black.....

On the topic of black, came across this when I was walking to the station the other day.

Don't know if you'd call it art or not, but I have trouble understanding whether its a picture of a black guy or white guy.

What made me even more confused was the line engraved in at the bottom. "Shock the monkey"

Heres what urban dictionary has to say about this line...

1. shock the monkey

verb, when a person (usually a law enforcement officer) uses an electronic form of non lethal force (usually a Tazer) on an African American, to subdue him or her during an arrest.

That nigger must have been high on crack; he kept fighting off the cops, so they had no choice but to shock the monkey!

Just a little prep work for the MG 00 raiser.

As some of you may remember, I covered a bit about the HG 00 raiser in a previous post

Today, we'll have a look at the MG.
So far, we'll be looking at the inner frame of the kit.
Next to MG exia

Compared to the exia frame, which was quite sloppy and loose even oob, the 00 frame is nice and sturdy.

Theres also a lot of improvement with articulation.
For starters, we'll have a look at the torso.
Exia torso has very limited amount of roll for either side.

One of the strangest parts of the exia was also an incomplete frame.
Being one of the more modern bandai MG's, the exia's legs had a few problems.
As you can see from the following picture, the parts which are separated aren't actually attached together properly, and can fall apart without armor holding it together.

Given that we know bandai can make full inner frame kits, eg Zaku 2.0

there shouldnt have been any reason as to why they couldnt make the same for a newer kit.

Thankfully, the MG 00 has it all.

PG 00 Gundam part 2

Following up on what I did since my last post. Pics are self explanatory so I wont go in depth ( lawl like I ever)

First off some bits and pieces for locking mechanism.

I think these are the thickest springs and screws in any Bandai kit to date.

One interesting note is that in the manual they fail to mention that part O9 is actually a tool to help with tightening the screws. I didn't know what it was and spent 30mins staring at the manual cos according to the manual there is 6x O9 but in reality you just use the single part 6 SEPARATE times.

As you can see there are many grooves along the inside and outer edges and which brings us to the next picture and another note of interest.

Notice the 2 tabs along the inside of this part. There are many of these at varying depths which are what locks the joints in place once you inserted the spring loaded mechanism ( which is more like an unlocking mechanism). If you're like Tim who likes to rush build his kits and ignore the directions and orientations of certain parts you will fail at this kit since a lot of parts must go in exactly as its shown and no you can't just trim a piece into the right shape Tim.

Like all PG's this one also has a light up feature inside the head but unlike the others the LED unit is slightly different

One of the disappointing things about this kit was the lack of pre-assembled hands and instead we get this runner to make ourselves

Bandai did help us out though and each finger segment is on the same row so all you need to do is cut out the middle part and insert like so

One last thing the eyes does not come prepainted so the black outline you see above was painted in by hand and for the illiterate on moonspeak the manual says that to leave out the stickers and markings for the head and eyes if you want to light it up since it will obstruct the brightness and theres not point in having them since the clear parts have all the text etched onto them already.

SD 00 Raiser

Well, what can i say
SD 00 Raiser kit
They say that nowadays, SDs are so good that they come close to the old Bandai HG kits. This was slightly true for the SDs in the Seed/Seed Destiny line.
However, as i have mentioned before, Bandai seems to have gone backwards for their SD 00 line. Yes, bandai has used its latest fine moulding technology for these kits, where each piece gets minimal contact with the sprue. However this does not justify the poor designs of the kits themselves.

Only 9 pieces to build the O raiser, compared to the 59 used in the 1:144.

Originally, i did have thoughts about pimping up the SD with 1-144 parts. However, the more i look at it, the less i see it becoming possible, especially when the 1:144 is such an awesome kit.

Ohwells, after this disappointment, i guess theres more to look forward to in the MG Exia!

So thats pretty much it
The only thing i have to complain about this kit is that it didnt come with the GN Sword MK III. Only way to get that was to get the 00 Raiser trans am version, but i wasnt too keen on the pink, so meh.
It is only a 1-144 afterall, so i dont have that much hopes for it. Wait till the PG comes out ^^
Anyways, next up would be the long waited MG EXIA!!
