GEH!!....27th, and only 8 posts this month....4PAK really needs some extra content to get itself back on its feet.
COME ON GUYS!!! ITS HOLIDAYS...WHAT ELSE HAVE YOU GOT TO DO???!!!

GO BLOG ABOUT YOUR LIVES. KEEP US UPDATED

Anyways, as most of you would have noticed already, our beloved 4PAK emblem, which we used to kick off this blog is back.
Most of you gave coments like "What the F***!! IS THAT WHAT I THINK IT IS??!!!" but im pretty sure that deep down in your little dirty minds (esp CK) that you all loved that banner.
Hence, its back!

meanwhile, i was doing a bit of cleaning up on old files on my comp and found my old "recieved" folder from many years ago. Alot of the content was from onderon, back in the days when MSN sharing was still used.

Heres one of the many pics in that folder. I wonder if Gifs would play or not.
Just incase it doesnt animate, the picture basically demonstrates the violence involved in japanese anime. Children are no acception.

work work work.....

Thursday, June 17, 2010 KOALA 4 comments
Yes yes, you can just say that im using 5 days of work/week as an excuse for being lazy on 4PAK.
However, despite me working so hard every day, something else on my dinner table has been working hard aswell.
I am refering to an uneaten choko, which had been sitting on the dining table for a few weeks.
For those who dont know whats a choko, can refer to wikipedia for more info
WHAT IS A CHOKO????

At first, it started off looking like mother natures left testicle.
From General
However, in just a couple of weeks, the little shoot on the end began to sprout.
From General
And now, since i've been curious to see how far it'll grow, its measured in at 45cm!

From General

Note that this choko has been growing without any water or soil. It just gets a good amount of daily sunlight, and the rainy weather in the past few weeks probably helped it a little bit.
Ofcourse, we'll be planting this in a pot some day. Maybe when it hits the 60-70cm mark....

Nintendo's 3DS at E3

Wednesday, June 16, 2010 CK 3 comments
So having to wake up at 6 yesterday I wasn't able to watch this live, but holy mother of Santa! Nintendo have been giving us fairly poor press conferences for the last 3-4 years, but they've more than made up for it in this one. In addition to a new Zelda, Metroid, Goldeneye, Wii Sports, Golden Sun, Donkey Kong and Kirby, they finally revealed the sucessor to the DS.

Trailer with Iwata, Miyamoto and Reggie:

If anyone still keeps up with the Ninty news you'd remember they first announced this back in March. The top screen has a 3.5 inch 800x240 resolution, and it features an analog stick and extra camera for taking 3D images. But otherwise they've mostly stuck with the DS clamshell design (only for the 5th time after DS DSL DSi and DSiXL). There is a slider on the side which controls the depth of its 3D visuals, and an SD card slot for memory expansion / digital media. It also uses cartridges and is backwards compatible with DS games.

But the main feature is the console's ability to produce 3D effects without the need of stereoscopic glasses. While we're unable to determine how realistic this is from the available media, I've been reading nothing but positive review for those who attended. Here's a Solid Snake preview, you may be able to feel some of the 3Dness:

Nintendo have always been bringing new ideas into the market, by introducing new methods of gaming using existing technology. Some (such as VR, vitality sensor) have failed while others (analog stick, rumble pack, game-eye, motion sensor, etc) each have pushed the gaming industry in new directions and caused its competitors to create their own designs. Depending on how appealing the 3D is, we may likely see other handhelds released in future and perhaps even televisions utilising the tech. Especially when all the current 3D TVs need the nerdy looking special glasses.

While I'll definitely be one of the first to pick one of these up on launch day I must admit there were a couple of things letdowns. Nintendo have a record of changing their handheld designs after 2 improvisations, this was the case for the Game Boy and GBA. but we're still getting mostly the same look only it's now messier with more controls. The two cameras on the top screen are both 0.3MP like the DSi (way to merge new tech with last century's). Also while a shiny black version was available for demo on the E3 show floor there has been no announcements on colours and the press images only show blue and red (aka kiddy and girly) colours. But nothing, NOTHING could stop the orgasms when I saw this:

List of announced 3DS titles:
- Kid Icarus: Uprising
- Steel Diver
- Star Fox 64
- PilotWings Resort
- Paper Mario
- Nintendogs + Cats
- Mario Kart
- Animal Crossing
- Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Chaos Theory

SIC Kamen Rider Kiva

Sunday, June 6, 2010 Onderon 4 comments
To start off this post I have to make a confession, I'm officially addicted to Kamen Rider. Think power rangers minus 3-4 colors and topped with loads of awesome. That's Kamen Rider. First aired on TV in 1971 about some evil organization trying to take over the world and the protagonist somehow gets mixed in and turned into a cyborg who can transform or HENSHIN!!!!! into a masked fighter who resembles a grasshopper and rides a bike *duh*

Now there are 20 different series of KR with the current one still on going and kicking ass hard and while I'm still waiting for the next episode of Kamen Rider W *the aforementioned on going series* I binged on a few of the newer series such as Decade, Kiva and Den-o. KR Kiva was my favorite and is the reason for this post and because I don't have any idea on how to wrap up this stupidly long intro I'll just jump right into it =P

So the other day I got my hands on this thing called S.I.C Kamen Rider Kiva
From SIC kamen rider

S.I.C stands for Super Imaginative Chogokin and is basically a collectible figurine containing die-cast metal parts and is also a re-imagining of the original KR designs.

Because I'm too lazy to pull up some screen caps to compare the designs you'll just have to talk my word for it or google it yourself. S.I.Cs' take on KR are wickedly sexy as they take the original and then give it a more organic and aggressive look to it.

For Kiva that means extra details such as what looks like veins running along all over his body

Ok I'm feeling super lazy now so i'll just post the pics and keep the text to the minimal.

below are the die-cast parts

Similar to revoltechs and figmas S.I.C comes with quite a few accessories and part swaps. In this case Kiva comes with 4 sets of hands which are nicely detailed

8 fuesltes which are whistles he can use to summon different weapons with

Kiva also comes with his cute companion called Kivat who helps the protagonist transform with a bite to the hand

An interesting note is that the VA for Kivat also did Gintoki and Kyon
From SIC kamen rider

the above is another version of Kivat with his wings folded and below is a die-cast version of the folded up Kivat
From SIC kamen rider

All 3 can connect to Kiva's belt via pegs

while part swapping is required for the larger Kivat
From SIC kamen rider

The fuestles can be inserted into Kivats mouth to replicate some of the poses Kiva does in the show and heres my pathetic attempt at Kiva's Wake up Fuestle being inserted to perform his Darkness moon break attack which is really a Rider Kick.

WTF his leg opened up?!!?!?!?!! In the show Kiva's right leg is sealed with a chain and is envoked by Kivat blowing on the Wake Up fuestle and smashing through the chains. So first we undo the chain which has a clasp that you connect the loose end of the chain to the armor

The die-cast parts are all hefty and has a nice feel to them!

I'll let the pics speak for themselves

I forgot to mention that it also came with an instruction leaflet telling you how to take off parts and part swap as well as the Bloody Rose violin which Kiva owns and I wont bother to explain.

RANDOM CROTCH SHOT!!

The material around the crotch is made from soft rubber which allows the hip joints to be hidden as well as preserve the articulation of the figure. S.I.Cs' have lots of points of articulation allowing for many hours of photography.
