New car arrived this morning, and I've taken a couple of pics. Won't say much else since they're self explanatory.

So the media is concerned about taking photos of young girls? Wait till they see what this game is REALLY like! (forgive the blur)

On a serious note, anyone with a 3DS who's considering this game should grab a copy while they can. It will either be reclassified or banned completely, Mortal Kombat style. Already happened in Sweden, and we're next.

Got this last Saturday and the straight build took maybe 8hrs to complete. Still got the rest of the weapons and the Aile pack to go. Half the parts have been sanded and prepped as of this post so I'm hoping to get some painting done over the Easter break. Look forward to it!

Chinese food
Well, it has been a while since the last post.
Today's topic. Oddly enough its something that we dont often talk about at 4PAK.
Chinese food.
I dont know whether its because most of us are Chinese and we often overlook our own culture, or whether we just dont find it interesting enough to talk about.
Either way, heres a post of a typical Hong Kong style dinner.
When you first sit down at the table, they often put a little plate of deep fried peanuts, or pickled vegetables. This small refreshment, or as the Sweds like to call it "Pre Dinner Snack", is useful for white people such as Cameron to practice their chopsticks stills.
What also comes as standard with a Cantonese meal is the soup. Soup of the day happens to be water spinach, pork bone and carrot.
Unlike eating at a Western restaurant, you dont really get to pick the soup, since 1- its doesnt come from a can, and 2 its free....now cant really complain about free food can we?
Now moving onto the main part of the meal. Because we had a white guy, and a Filipino who didnt know how to hold chopsticks, we kinda stuck to a pretty standard chinese dishes catered for white people.
Entree. Deep fried pigeon. Funny how people are more willing to eat the arse of the pigeon but not the head or the neck. Is it because of looks i wonder???
Mongolian Beef. Served on a hot sizzling plate. Again, another dish which was designed to impress white guys.
Another dish that would us asians roll our eyes. Sweet and sour pork.
Just about any white guy is guaranteed to order this dish at a chinese restaurant.
Now to balance out all the meat, one would need some vegetables in their diet. So we got a tofu pot, which was supposed to have veggies in it.
Turned out that the greens were all the way at the bottom, and there was still more meat than veg......at least the flavour was ok.
And to top off the traditional white person's chinese dinner, fried rice...
To make things a bit different, we ordered the Fujian fried rice aka Fukin Fried rice (written on the restaurant menu)
Now to wrap up this post, lets play a little game.
Cameron's new car has the following numberplate. BFA- __M.
How many 3/4 letter acronyms can you guys come up with?
I'll start off with a 3 letter one. Boy Farting Air

MG Acguy
I purchased this baby over a year ago during the first gunpla building get together I went to which was at COFA and have always been meaning to do something nice with it and since I was in the mood I decided to brush off the dust and get my arse into gear.
This was the only photo I have of it before I started working on it but I'm sure everyone knows what it looks like
The goal for this project was to achieve a semi decent marbling effect and since I've never tried it b4 I found some spare parts and dabbed on some silver paint with a paintbrush and thanks to my every impressive laziness I opted to brush on a clear color instead of using the airbrush
Big mistake. The brush strokes literally melted the silver paint so it became blurry but that a side I was confident with what I had to do so I busted out the airbrush and sprayed on a layer of Alclad Gloss Black - which I also forgot to take photos of.
Interesting note. The gloss black was more transparent compared to Tamiya paints so it would require multiple coats to achieve a solid look but since the Acguy was brown to begin with it didn't make much difference and Alclad Gloss Black is super cheap.
After that was to apply the patterns. At first I was planning on varying the tones by using silver and interlacing with white but since I wanted a dark shade of blue as the clear coat I figured the white would become redundant.
I opted to use a soft bristle brush since it was the less messy.
N.b. the paint used was Tamiya Chrome Silver and its touch dried in like 5 minutes.
ATTENTION! For all those who attempt the next part remember to lay down a coat of clear coat to protect the patterns incase you screw up the color coat like I did.
Better lighting. Sunlight is the best when it comes to photography =)
Notice how the patterns are pretty uniform due to using a brush. I assume using a sponge will yield more realistic patterns.
Managed to do the clear blue today after uni but made a mistake with thinning the paint on my 2nd cup hence half the parts had to be stripped down to remove all the acrylic - Glass cleaner works wonders here. It's like waxing legs minus the pain.
Hopefully I'll remember to mix the paint properly tomorrow

How clean is your computer? Part 4
Two and a half years. And you think to yourself that you've seen it all.
Dust, cobwebs, a couple of dead cockroaches here and there, nothing too special.
But today, I think we deal with the most extreme cases. Even my boss has never encountered something this strange.
And today, we deal with a rather big rotting apple.
Yes, the unfortunate client brought in an 2005 iMac, with an infestation. I wouldn’t be surprised why they the Mac store wouldn’t accept it.
I guess I wouldn’t go into too much detail about this, (as the client is a police officer, so I have no idea whether they would be spying on this article or not), so as usual, pictures are worth a thousand words – or in this instance, a thousand ants.
The outside. The unit was brought in with every gap and crevice taped up. Upon releasing the tape, the ants started to crawl out all over the place.
Now moving on to underneath the bonnet.
Now before you move onto the next few pictures, I must warn you. If you are currently eating, I recommend you finish eating before scrolling down.
Inside the heat sinks.
By this time, a lot of them had already started crawling out and into a containment box which we set up.
And as we dug deeper to remove more parts, we found even more groups. This was under the hard drive.
On the motherboard.
Even the fans were filled with ants and their eggs.
And as we were using the air compressor to flush them out, ants and eggs were flushed out everywhere.
So. After looking at this, please make sure that you all keep your computers clean. Make it a good habit of not to eat near your computer.
Now moving onto some backlog stuff.
For starters, need to thank Chun kei for this late, but awesome birthday present.
A nice decoration item on my desk.
And in other news.
We are now moving up one level in our world of gunpla. A spray booth, with ventilator and light.
If it wasn’t for the droplets of paint on the inside, it could also be used as light box for photos.
Here's my MC Hi V.

Soft boiled eggs and training with bears
Whoever has eaten or half eaten a bowl of Gumshara ramen would have tried their delectable soft boiled eggs which are as soft and fluffy as clouds and literally melts in your mouth.
I would like to announce that I am 1 step closer to mastering this recipe and present you with my very first successful attempt.
The whites is nice and firm with a nice consistent ovoid shape. On closer inspection you may notice a slight tinge of yellow from the yoke at the tip of the egg.
The outside has denatured enough to allow for some prodding lawl.
The yoke is actually less runny than in the picture as I had to poke open the egg with a pair of chopsticks and mushed things around instead of slicing it with some fishing wire.
All in all I'm pleased with this attempt and with practice one can only get better =)

Servers are deadly
So, for the past few days at work, i have dedicated a part of myself to building a server for a client.
The system itself is a modest entry level server, with a few nice components thrown in here and there.
One of which is this Adaptec raid controller card.
The ASAR6805 is labed as a "value" series card by adaptec, with a price tag of $632.
Mind you, adaptec raid cards have a entry level price of around $56, while some of the high end ones will hit around 1.5k. So i guess $600 would be counted as relatively good value.
Upon opening the plain brown card board box (not really flashy for an expensive component), I was greeted with this small sheet of paper slipped into the packaging.
Oh dear. Im actually considering actually taping this sticker to the main chassis of the server, so that when the client picks it up, he will be fully aware not to leave this giant box running in his bedroom at night, just incase the radiation slowly fries his balls off.
Anyways, thats enough for me today. Will probably do more posts on this server later in the week.
